Huskers vs Badgers 2011

What do you say about getting pounded like that on national tv?

First the good.  The first quarter the Huskers looked good, played well on offense and defense against a very good Wisconsin team.  The o-line were moving people off the ball and pretty much doing what they wanted to.  It was good to see Brandon Kennie make some grabs and block a couple of guys so far into the bench I was worried there were flags coming.  Jared Crick … Read More....

Huskers vs Fresno State 9-2011

That was not what the Huskers thought would happen.  A Fresno State team that came to win not to be a punching bag for the “superior” team.

I am not going to review the game down by down.  I am going to say that it was a good win for the Huskers and a great punch in the face.  Exactly what this team needed in week 2.  The offense still didn’t have any fluidity in the first half but then … Read More....

What now for the not so Big 12

Now that A&M is leaving the Big 12 where does that leave everybody else?  I think it leave Oklahoma going to the PAC-12 or they could be sandbagging for the SEC.

What puzzles me is that people are picking Texas to go to the PAC-12??  I don’t think the PAC-12 will have them with the UT Network.  I don’t think anybody will have them with that.  I expect UT to go independant and the rest of the league scrambling to … Read More....

Colorado and Nebraska Split at the Right Time

The Big 12 made it sound like everything would be just fine after Nebraska and Colorado left for the Big Ten and Pac 12 respectively.

They should really change the name of the conference to Texas and the other 9.  The Big 12 is proving to be more and more dysfunctional.  Texas A&M says it regrets not leaving for the SEC while the getting was good and now the SEC says it is fine right where it is.

Personally I … Read More....

Getting down to it. Hello Big Ten

It is about that time.  This is going to be a very interesting year for the Huskers.  No more Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado (unless both make the Rose bowl), it is all new teams (except the non-conference schedule where the Huskers play Washington for the 3rd time in a calendar year).

Games I most look forward to? First conference game right off the bat.  Wisconsin, Alvarez played linebacker at NU and was an assistant there.  NU and Wisconsin have a lot … Read More....

Oklahoma and A&M to SEC in the next 2 years

Sounds like OU and A&M aren’t so happy to be in the Big 12 and let Texas do whatever it likes.  I hear that OU and A&M told Texas that it has an unfair recruiting advantage with the UT network and that they are looking at moving to the SEC in the next couple years.

I have to say this is so funny.  It will leave UT on the outside looking in.  They will either be in a nothing conference … Read More....

USC Loses BCS National Championship the Hard Way

WOW.  The BCS voted and took USC’s 2004 National Championship away.  Amazing.  That is a clear statement that if you cheat the school is going to pay for it.  I also think it is a straight shot at Auburn.

Reggie Bush should be extremely proud of himself.  He is the only player to ever have his Heisman stripped and not USC is the only team to have its football National Championship stripped.

This pretty much makes it clear that if … Read More....

Terrelle Pryor Taking OSU Down with Him

Now that Jim Tressel is out of the picture it is on to the team.  Terrelle Pryor, the starting QB and guy that will be blamed for all this in the end is now being investigated for taking a bunch of extra benefits.  According to a report he has been linked to no less than 6 cars in his time at OSU.

I have a question, if a guy keeps showing up in a new car every few months don’t … Read More....

More on Jim Tressels Resignation

In the past couple years 2 “highly respected” coaches were caught cheating and took two of the most successful programs of the last 15 years down.  Pete Carrol apparently is much smarter than Jim Tressel.  He stayed far enough way for what Reggie Bush and the other players were doing to have some deniablity.

My guess is that what ever is coming is going to be just as big if not bigger than what happened at USC.  The coach knew, … Read More....

Jim Tressel Resigns

Well the big news today and this week in college football will the resignation of Jim Tressel from Ohio State.  I was pretty surprised to wake up to this news today.  But makes me wonder what is coming down the pipe.  I am sure this was one of those choices given to the coach, it happens one way or the other.

I am really curious to see what the investigations show.  There must be something pretty big coming to force … Read More....

Cody Green Transfer

This is a big blow to the Huskers but unfortunately it was not a huge surprise to me.  Cody Green asked to be released from this his scholarship earlier this week.

Cody played in 17 games starting 4.  He was a huge asset to the Huskers.  If Taylor Martinez struggled or got hurt it was nice to have a guy with the talent of Cody ready to jump in and get after it.

I am not surprised by Cody’s wanting … Read More....
